Airport
Kai Tak Airport officially adopted the name Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). The MTR’s high speed Airport Express takes approximately 24 minutes to reach Hong Kong Island and is the fastest way to get between the city and the airport. Both Kowloon and Hong Kong stations provide free in town check in services for major airlines.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available from the taxi pick up area in front of the airport’s Arrivals Hall. If you’re travelling to Hong Kong Island or Kowloon you’ll need to catch a red taxi. If you’re headed for the New Territories you’ll need a green taxi, and those going to Lantau Island will require a blue taxi. All taxis in Hong Kong are able to take passengers to and from the airport.
Bus
There are more than 20 convenient Airbus A routes that can take you from the airport to key locations on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and in the New Territories including Lantau Island with fewer stops than an ordinary city bus. When you exit the Arrivals Hall, turn right to find Airbuses and city buses.
Tramway & Peak Tram
Tram Tramway line was opened in 1904 and operates only on the northern side of Hong Kong Island. It's one of the oldest public transport in Hong Kong. The route is shown on the plate with the last destination point. The double-decker tramways run between Kennedy Town on the west and Shau Kei Wan on the east. Almost all routes pass through the city center Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. Tramways in Hong Kong perform not only transportation functions, but also became a popular sightseeing attraction. They are very comfortable for short distance or if you would like to explore the city.

Best Food to Eat in Hong Kong
Dim Sum
Hong Kong food guide, for the sake of not mentioning dozens of common dim sum dishes, I’ll include them all under this single dim sum category. Dim sum can range from braised chicken feet, to porky Siu mai, to shrimp filled her ago, all guzzled down with hot tea.
Lo Mai Gai
Glutinous rice, plus a combination of chicken and pork, and sometimes Chinese sausage, is steamed within a lotus leaf until the entire packet becomes gooey, the flavors all mingle together, and the lotus leaf embeds its fragrance into the rice.
Roast Goose
Marinated in a blend of secret spices, of which some recipes include over 20 different spices and aromatics, then roasted using charcoal until golden crispy perfection, roast goose is must eat in Hong Kong.
Roast Pork
Roast pork, usually the belly of the pig, is roasted until utterly crispy on the outside skin, yet creamy and soft from the high quantity of fat on the underside. The result is simply one of the most superb bites of anything you could possibly eat.
Roast Chicken
Another classic in the Cantonese meat department is roasted chicken, which has similar properties to roasted goose, but of course it’s chicken, and it usually has a lesser spice marinade to it. The Cantonese style roast chicken can be so crispy and so oily that it actually tastes like it’s deep fried chicken, rather than roasted. The skin is crispy and slightly chewy, while the chicken meat remains moist and juicy. Sometimes you dip roast chicken into fragrant salt for extra delicious flavoring.

Fried Rice
Made in an extremely hot wok, while keeping the flame at a precise heat, egg, ham, and some bits of seafood are fried with rice and curry flavoring. The fried rice has a brilliant wok hei taste, and the curry flavor just makes it one of the greatest types of fried rice to eat in Hong Kong.
Braised Gai-Lan or Eggplant
The vegetable is sometimes flavored with Cantonese salted fish, typically some minced pork for extra flavoring, and lots of garlic, and sometimes chilies. Eggplant is my particular favorite, and although it always comes soaked in oil, the flavor and creamy texture of the eggplant is simply hard to beat, especially with hot rice.
Tofu Pudding / Steamed Milk
Along with all sorts of savory types of tofu, a common dessert throughout China is soft tofu pudding known as douhua. The texture is extremely soft and silky, similar to a really fine pudding. The dessert can be topped with a number of different sweet toppings, but in Cantonese cooking, it’s usually either topped with ginger or sweet syrup.
Egg Waffle
The batter is made with plenty eggs, flour, and sugar, and cooked in a hot griddle. You’ll immediately know that sweet eggy smell when fresh egg waffles are being made in your near vicinity.
Pineapple Bun
Known locally as bor lor bao, a pineapple bun is fluffy and crusty with a crumbly crust at the same time, sweet but not overly so, and sometimes served with a tongue sized slice of butter right in the warm middle. But where is the pineapple? To my understanding, there’s not actually pineapple in the recipe, but it got its name because the outside top of the bun looks kind of like a pineapple.

Hong Kong has a long history of foreign influence, and French toast is one of those foods that became popularized at street food stalls and local cafes. But Hong Kong style French toast isn’t just a thin slice of bread dipped in egg and fried in a skillet It’s more than that.

I’m not huge on the sweet milk tea, but my drink of choice at Hong Kong street food restaurant is lemon tea. The tea comes strong and black, with fresh slices of lemon which you mash down with your spoon to release all the lemon juice before you start drinking. It’s the perfect beverage to wash everything down.

There are over 10 million people living on Hong Kong, in a fairly small area, making it one of the world’s most densely populated areas. The lack of space has turned Hong Kong into the world’s most vertical city, full of sky scrapers.
Hong Kong has a special history, being a colony of the British Empire from 1842 before occupied by Japan during the Pacific War 1941-1945 while the British again resumed control from 1945-1997. The British periods have greatly influenced the current culture of today’s Hong Kong.
The Parks are beautiful Both the Hong Kong Park on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Park is worth a visit. In Hong Kong Park there are even animals.
Hong Kong Harbors is a real must when visiting the city. It is one of the world`s most busy harbors. The harbor view is quite breathtaking especially after dark when thousands of lights from all the skyscrapers are lit.
Look up at all the Skyscrapers. Lift your head and look up towards the sky when walking around the busy streets of Hong Kong, and look at all the spectacular skyscrapers. There are over 8 million people living in Hong Kong, and the lack of space has turned Hong Kong into the world’s most vertical city. Some of the skyscrapers are quite cool.
St. John’s Cathedral close to the Peak Tram Terminus is the oldest surviving Western building in Hong Kong, and the oldest Anglican church in the Far East. It had its first Sunday service on 11 March 1849. During the Japanese Occupation of Hong Kong, the cathedral was converted into a social club for the Japanese. Many of the original fittings were stripped out, including the original stained glass windows. The site of St. John’s Cathedral is actually the only freehold land in Hong Kong, granted the Church of England Trust Ordinance. All other lands in Hong Kong are leasehold in nature. Step inside, sit down and enjoy the peaceful silence for a moment.
Hong Kong is one of the best shopping cities in Asia, yeah I will actually say the world. It is not the cheapest city though so be prepared to dig deep and find your credit cards. There are so many huge shopping malls here, both on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, so there are plenty to choose from. You can also do great bargains at the street markets. We went shopping for Action Figures.
To hop on one of the Star Ferries between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon is so worthwhile. Star Ferry also offers harbour tours which take you for a half hour tour around the harbour. If you have had enough of the city, you can also explore the outlying islands if you have time and go island hopping. For instance the islands: Sai Kung, Lantau, Lamma and Cheung Chau. Here you will find gorgeous scenery, good hiking trails, beaches, seafood restaurants, small villages, temples, and monasteries.
Take the Peak Tram up to Victoria Peak Yes, it is touristy, and the queue is ridiculously long But the view once on top is totally worth it, believe me! The tram trip takes 8 minutes, and departs from Garden Road. At the top, there is a big shopping mall full of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Taking the tram through the Hong Kong Island is a fun and cheap way to see the city The colorful, narrow, old, double decker trams, dating from 1904, goes from Central to Causeway Bay.
Eating Dim Sum or Dumplings is a must in Hong Kong You can for instance, eat delicious Dim Sum the Maxim`s Palace in City Hall, one of the best and most authentic Dim Sum places left in Hong Kong. They still do it the old way, with trolleys rolling by in between the tables, where you can pick the Dim Sum you want. They also serve delicious desserts from their trolleys. Lovely Jasmine tea is included. Yummy.
Drink Chinese Tea China is famous for their tea, but unfortunately, there are not many of the old authentic tea houses left in Hong Kong. An exception is Luk Yu Tea House which is an authentic vestige of a lost ear. It is a real old-school Chinese tea house, and the most famous traditional and authentic tea houses left in Hong Kong. It is beautifully decorated with black ceiling fans, wooden booths, ornate wood paneling, stained-glass murals and marble tabletops.
